no, it was very stupid and unnecessary. disbanding the military and dismantling the government were huge mistakes. destroying the buildings, bridges, electrical grid, water plants and other basic infrastructure was not necessary to defeat the iraqi army. it seemed like rumsfeld just wanted to try out all of the expensive weapons that we had. he was like a child on christmas with a lot of new toys to try out.
we just made one helluva mess, and created much suffering that was not necessary to get rid of saddam.

name something about this war that was smart. oops, now I get to hear from all those that will name killing Saddam as a smart thing to do. If that was so smart, why is it that there was less chaos, less death, less destruction in Iraq when Saddam was in charge.
