I'm looking into getting my first motorcycle. I've ridden before on someone else's bike and it fit perfectly. But when I went to check out a couple of bikes this past week, none of them seemed to "fit". Please help!

Absolutely.

Depending on how short you are, there are several things you can try.

Wear stacked heels.
Have your seat modified to remove most of the padding and replace it with another substance that doesn't take up as much room.
Have the seat modified to be skinnier - wider seats cause your legs to spread out more which can make it harder to reach the ground.
Have the shocks adjusted to a lower setting.
Many bikes have a lowering kit that can be used to drop them several inches lower.

Many people are not keen on having a bike lowered, but so long as it isn't dropped too too much, and you're not an aggressive driver, you wouldn't even notice a difference in handling and won't have any problems.

I'm 5'3 and I've had my 6R lowered - I think the seat height is now around 29". I can get one foot flat and the other I can get the ball of my foot down. Because this bike is so light, that's just fine.

You can also google "short biker list" - there are a few out there. It's best if you start with a bike that already has a low seat height. You may fit on one just fine, but if not, at least it won't have to be dropped so much, or perhaps one of the less invasive methods would work for you.

Adjusting the ride height on a bike is fairly easy. You can adjust the stock seats on most models to some degree. There are after-market kits to lower them more, and if you need or want it, there are companies (Sargent's, Corbin, etc.) that will do a custom seat for you.

I always suggest looking the various magazines. Usually the cruisers and standards have seat adjustments. Sports usually don't. Sports have the engine covered.
Best to ask a dealer, actually, all of them, don't just jump in and on any bike without all ur questions answered. Good start here!

There is some up/down adjustment in the rear shocks. Won't change much but it may be just enough. Also making the adjustment will change the way the shocks absorb the bumps. May be a stiffer or softer ride depending on the adjustment.

check out the sites below, they will give you alot of information. especially if you are a new rider take a motorcycle safety course. they are pretty cheap when compared to the hospital bill for a stupid mistake. and some states they are free.

most people don't want to adjust the hight of the Kawasaki Ninja EX250, but if you want to, it is really simple and straight forward.

stay safe.

No. many times the only adjustment you additionally could make is "pre-load adjustment" which will develop or decreases the stiffness of the ask your self based on the predicted weight on the bike.

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
Some sport bikes can lower the rear end with lowering links.
The front end can be lowered by pushing the fork tubes up through the steering stem.

Fork tubes can be slid in the triple tree, shorter shocks or shock can be installed and if that is still not enough you can have the seat customized to sit lower.
In short( Pun intended) yes.
