It is patriotic to support him insofar as he efficiently serves the country. At least we stand up for something. All Dems do is talk trash about the troops and protest the war....oh did, I mention cut funding? We are already there, we need to finish what was started. Remember 9-11? We don't want to cut and run....and btw....my brother is serving in Iraq right now. So don't try and say, I don't know what its like to have a family member over there in Iraq. I'm also a VET, so is my husband. Our country is not WRONG!

I'm not afraid at all. I will stand behind this country right or wrong. Just because you don't support this President it does not mean he is wrong. Have you ever thought that you may be the one who is misinformed? This president does not get a free pass either. While I support him on Iraq, I do not support him on immigration and he is hearing from me quite often in this regard. I am not afraid to stand up for what I believe.

Don't be so blinded by your hate. Standing beside someone who is doing his job is ok in my book. His job is to protect this country. He is doing just that. Until he proves otherwise, don't tell me what patriotism is. Most who stand behind him in this war that congress won't stop, don't stand with him on the border issue. He is failing on that security front. i hate to be the first to ever tell you this, but different opinions and Ideas make up this country. Without them, you would not have a country to be patriotic for.

Yet another question with a false premise. Conservatives have spoken, and spoken loudly when they think the country is wrong. One of Bush's first acts (steel tariffs) was loudly criticized by conservatives. If anything, conservatives speak up before anyone else, so if you don't hear them speaking up on a particular issue, it is probably because they agree with it.

Reagan had an almost delusional optimism at all times, but he was also able to face reality.

Many of todays Republican politicians seem to think that any criticism of anything in the USA will be the destruction of their political career, and so they push Reagan's optimism further and further, until it disconnects them completely from reality. I mean look at Mitt Romney during the last GOP debate. He was asked "What do you dislike most about America?". Everyone has something they dislike about America, but Romney got caught up in the close-to-insane optimistic mentality of the current GOP leaders and answered: "Gosh. I love America!"

Hello? No-one asked if you loved America, they asked what you disliked most about it! See what I mean? In order to maintain this sort of delusional optimism, they completely disconnect from reality. Reagan was a good man and a decent President, but these people who offer themselves to be the next President from the GOP cherry-pick what parts of Reagan's personality that they want while idolizing the man himself. And they dont pick the good parts! They pick the tireless optimism and stretch it even further, to the point where its not even believable, as Romney demonstrated so well.

Tell me exactly what it is your rambling about and I'll give you my answer. Unlike Libs, I make my own decisions! There are many things I disagree with Republicans on, but it doesn't change the fact that they have more brains than Liberals. I would vote for Dan Quayle if it meant keeping Hillary out of the white house!


BTW Truthseeker, i voted for Bush twice and if he changed his immigration policy, I would do it again! i have never hid that fact and I never will!)

I can't even imagine such a one-dimensional group of friends. Discussions must get really boring.

For cons politics has become a team sport. They will support Bush even when it's obvious that his actions are hurting the country. With them, team loyalty trumps rational reasoning every time.
