You may have wasted 3 years of your life and countless amounts of money but you sure can string a sentence together, so it isn't all bad.

I have an English Lit Degree.
I planned to use it as a base from which to study Law.
Only I found out early in work and business that so many in the law profession were liars, punks, and cheats.
So I used my degree in other ways studying foreign languages, understanding the art, history, and culture of our own society to develop myself both in business and socially.
If I had it to do again I would probably do it as I did.
No regrets.
Very successful career, good income, happy.
So much can be done by understanding life by observing it thru the eyes of the authors.
Where did you get your degree?
Are you still in school.
How old are you?
What are your other interests?

It is a good, general degree even though, apart from teaching and journalism, it is not exactly vocational. The fact that you were able to complete your studies shows that you have the ability to organise your thoughts and your activities. Finding employment is not easy so do not despair. Just keep knocking on doors and do NOT be too critical of your chosen subject. Present it to potential employers as a fulfilling and intellectually broadening experience.

College or University shouldn't be considered vocational training.
It's a time to learn and find out who you are. If you are go into it as a way to get a job and follow it as a path to $$$ you will be miserable 5 years out.
You should follow what you love and find a way to make money afterwards.
I've hired art majors for marketing in technical companies that succeeded and have hired business majors with technical minors who were total failures.

theres only really two things it's good for.
1) becoming an english teacher
2) using it to get into a good grad school. My sister was an english lit major only to use it to get into Law school. She just finished her 1st semester of Law school. Maybe you should consider something like that
