For me it comes more as a defence mechanism when I've been pulled up on something I know I've probably done wrong. Its not easy when someone takes the moral high ground with you sometimes, especially when you already know your in the wrong and you haven't the means of justifying yourself.
I try not too, but sometimes in the heat of a situation you want to let the other person know the old, "he without first sin" line.
Almost always I regret this but with a bit on time I can reflect and learn from what I've done and normally apologises if the situation merits so.

I find it quite difficult to guilt trip others. It is usually my daughter who quilt trips me.

Of-course i do, sometimes you just have to. Specially when you have a very stingy hubby. He does the same to me, make me feel guilty:)
