what do people wear for gaduation?

what are girls suppose to wear under their graduation robes?

Usually the school gives a list on what they should or should not wear. Just go with something dressy :)

The girls were required (per school guidelines) to wear knee length nice dresses/skirts. No jeans, capris, basically nothing casual. Boys were required to wear dress pants, dress shirt & tie.
Oh yeah, the girls had to wear flat shoes, this was mandatory due to the 80 steps we had to use to get to the stage. We didn't want any broken bones by girls in heels to ruin the first most important moment of our lives.

for my graduation in 98 my school colors were red white and blue, the girls had red robes, boys blue robes and honor white, I wore a nice navy blue rayon/silk dress that stop at the knees and navy/patent leather/rayon heels, and navy sparkle stockings

I'd say go with something light because it's going to be warm! Usually there are established guidelines your advisors give you...
