i have no idea, but how about another opinion? i feel those who are addicted to sex are using sex in the same manner as those with other addictions. for what ever purpose, the gratification is only temporary,so they seek more of the same. present programs concerning drug addiction, for example, are not working sufficiently. too many participants suffer relapse, because the effort has been to focus on the addiction rather than eliminating the strong influences and underlying psychological problems that lead to a relapse. AA & NA try to instill the thought of personal responsibility, which is where it's all at,but needs to be able to refer members to the appropriate professionals to deal with the problems surrounding the addiction.
those addicted to sex must have a high rate of success due to availability(?)or how could such an addiction be possible? anyway,i see the addiction as an attempt to fill a hole(pun intended)that cannot be sated when a sense of wholeness is desired. it may be due to a chemical imbalance or chemical deficiency in the brain that would allow one to be normally satisfied. what all this other crap i mentioned has to do with it, i don't know. if you have a problem with the subject or know someone who does, see a doctor for proper treatment. don't be listening to my bs.

Treatment should probably involve at least some of the following:
A commitment to abstinence
Rebuilding relationships
Managing stress
Self-help
Some treatment for sex addicts follows the format employed by alcoholics, viewing addicts as individuals trapped in a vicious cycle in spite of their attempts to change. The model, which is strongly based on 12-step programs, focuses on three elements of the cycle:
Use of sex
Self-judgment
Avoidance behaviors
The elements of the addictive cycle are impacted by a process created by using:
A therapeutic environment
A thorough assessment
A group process
Education
Self/peer assessment
These techniques are incorporated into a therapeutic process, which begins with the first contact.

Not by showing your *** in front of everybody. Great sex do not come from people who are showing it but it comes from your heart.

Counseling is the number one solution. The reason why they need psychotherapy is coz they are actually sick in the head.
