Yes, that should NOT be allowed. I would be popping a little fanny or thigh for that behaviour.

Not Hardly! Try listening to that when that 4 year old turns into a 16 year old, towers over you and intimidates everyone around you because no one took the time to swat little "sweetpea" on the butt and tell him that, that is unacceptable behavior...I hope someone in that little persons life is doing more than "bearing" the situation!

Parents in contemporary america are absolutely clueless about raising a child. I was at a rest stop on the parkway headed down the shore this weekend. This child starts crying and the father give him a bottle of juice. The kid throws the bottle of juice across the floor. The father fetches the bottle of juice and gives it once again to the kid. The kid resorts to throwing the bottle of juice again. So much for parenting.

Nope thats what a squirt bottle is for.. just keep squirting the kid in the face while staying absolutely calm and telling them to be quiet and mind their manners... eventually they will shut up and sulk and you will have won... it works for dogs and cats too. Mwahahaha!!! Seriously though.. I dont have kids I have dogs and cats, but I dont like to hit anyone so I use a squirt bottle.. I have used it on various children too and it works just as well, its not violent, it is pure corrective punishment, they cant escape the water and the only way to make it stop is to behave, it really and truly works. Some people I know came over to my house, their kids are really bad little monsters, and werent listening so I told the boy I would squirt him if he didnt go sit on the couch and behave, he thought I was joking.. well I wasnt and I squirted him until he obeyed. I have never seen that child so well behaved as he was that day with the threat of the squirt bottle hanging over his head...

This is learned behavior. Kids are a reflection of ourselves. You may want to know who is raising or influencing this child.
Have you ever seen that video with Will Farrell and the 4 yr old kid pretending to be a landlord?

I can't imagine myself being yelled at. That is a total no-no to me, specially from a child. He needs discipline unless you allow him to grow up with no manners but that will be a bad reflection on you as a parent for not bringing him up correctly. Is the child yours, by the way? If not, go tell his parents to teach their child some manners.

Children only reflect or imitate what's in the environment-that's how they learn. The child is still very young and there is time for instilling positive behaviour patterns by having him/her see positive examples and rewarding good behaviour with lots of praise and love.

yeah, you shouldn't be bearing with it, you should be teaching the kid that that is not acceptable... if ur not the parent, you should still get onto them, and if the parent isn't there, put them in some time out, and at the end of the timeout make them apologize.... if the parent is there tell the child that isn't nice, and tell them they should apologize... if the parent has a problem with it, then it's their problem

Heck yah! Except I'd rather discipline the stupid parents who raised the kid to be that way...rather than punish the kid. Kids only know right and wrong as they are taught.

Yes. I was raised in a different manner. My mother taught me to always show respect to grownups.
