Bright colored envelopes like shocking pink. Big letters/numbers and use a thick black marker. You may want to get some pointers from the Post Office. They could also give you the do's and don'ts, legal and illegal.

Don't use an envelope. Seriously. Some of the most unique attention getting mail is mailed in unusual shapes. How about mailing your letter in a clear plastic soda bottle? It's been done, but it sure does stand out from all those envelopes!

Use a clean, dry plastic soda bottle. You can glue the cap to the top of the bottle if you want. Cut a center slit in the middle of the bottle lengthwise in the shape of a capital I (with the corss bars at the top and bottom of the I). This allows you to fill the bottle. Then you use clear packing tape to seal it back up. Then simply stick an address label on the outside of it and take it to the post office to mail it.

Glitter, crayons, magazine decoupage, brightly colored envelopes, HUGE envelopes... We used to decorate our fan mail to try and make it stand out. Just remember, the other 100s of people probably do the same thing! Oh and the post office has regulations about that stuff too so make sure you can clearly see the address and postage and stuff.

What I used to do is pick a theme and cut these pictures out of magazines, like shoes, flowers, cats and assemble them all over you envelope. Remember not to cover the part where the post office needs to stamp your stamp. It definitely stick out that way.

Try making it yourself and make it out of colorful card stock paper or scrapbook paper. It would stand out and not be too much but they would notice. Try a pink or purple or bright blue or something
