Any attempts to stockpile for such an event would lead to a long drawn out painful lonely death later. I would enjoy a week's vacation, set up the lawn chairs for a good view, and at the moment, watch the big fireworks and vaporize quickly, so there would be no lingering radiation wounds or sickness.

I'd probably go to Jamaica and stay wasted. If I'm going down by nuclear holocaust then I'm going down with the whole ocean falling on top of me!

I would find out where you could join underground shelters and I would sell most of what I had and take the money and drink beer. Just kidding--I'd take the money and buy all the water and food I could for my family and stock up for as long as I could. It would be so scary.
