You really should get checked out. You could have anemia. Too much iron can constipate you.

What no one has said yet is that prenatal vitamins often will have iron in them. Check and see if they do. If they have iron don't take an iron supplement as well......unless you are anemic and the doc says you should take A LOT of iron.

If you think the tiredness and weakness is from anemia (low iron in blood)...then yes, by all means take it. I have low iron and take supplemants as well as some red meat (which contains the most iron). Vitamin C is also fine...if you intake too much (its also in lots of fruits), your body will just get rid of extra vitamins in your urine. Prenatal vitamins usually contain folic acid as the only main difference, to help with nerve and spinal chord development in the fetus..but its not in any way harmful to you by taking it. Don't worry, you'll be fine, your body is designed to absorb the vitamins it needs and get rid of excess vitamins

The prenatals have plenty of iron in them and along with the iron in your diet, it should be plenty enough even if you are slightly anemic. You need to be careful with iron because too much can be fatal. I would not take iron supplement in addition to the prenatals without a doctors prescription, which will give you the correct dosing so you do not overdose.

yes it is completely safe it is actually very good for you I would also add a calcium supplement as well it will help prepare your body for pregnancy when you decide to have children, vit c helps with warding off colds and illness, calcium will help prevent osteoporosis, and the iron supplement will help with your blood production, energy and o2 transport. Now if you are on various other medications you may want to check with your doctor but if you only take birthcontrol it is all okay to take and actually very good just dont take more than you are suppose to they you will get overload of your vitamins

Sure it's ok. Doctors actually encourage taking prenatal vitamins as soon as you start trying to get pregnant. But if you're not trying, I would just take regular multi-vitamins. The main difference between them is extra folic acid in the prenantal vitamins to help prevent birth defects in the baby.

It's safe to take all of them except for the iron. When it comes to iron, you should not take it unless a doctor told you too. Too much iron can cause the same symptoms as not enough iron.

I take OTC prenatal vitamins and i'm not pregnant. I take them to make my hair extra shiney and my nails stronger. As long as you don't take more than recommended on the bottle (for the pre natal vitamins and the vitamin c) you'll be alright.
