2. -4yxx + 5xyx +7x - 6y + 5x

3. 6x - 10 = -3 = 2x = 3 (5-)x)

I have no clue here, Please help me and explain, I really appreciate this. Thanks

Combine like terms using the right function (-,+,*. or/).

1.) 9x + 3y + 7xy + 5

3x + 6 x = 9x

2xy + 5xy = 7xy

5 and 3 y remain the same because their are no like terms to combine them with.

1) You want to add all the like terms together.
So, here we have 2xy+5xy, which is 7xy. Then we have 3x+6x, or 9x. We also have a 3y, but since there are no other terms with only y, we cannot do anything. And, the 5 just stays there. So we have a final answer of:
7xy+9x+3y+5

2)Again, combine like terms.
-4yxx + 5xyx +7x - 6y + 5x
the -4yxx is the same as -4x^2y. So is the 5xyx, which is the same as 5x^2y. These two terms are similar, so we can combine to get x^2y. Then we have a 7x+5x, or 12x. Lastly, the -6y just stays to give a final answer of:
x^2y+12x-6y

Im not sure what you mean in the 3rd one.

try not to get confused by all the different xs and ys. just seperate them into combinations of everything.
number 1: 3x +5+2xy+6x+5xy. seperate the xs, the xys and the constants. therefore you get 3x +6x +2xy+ 5xy+5 add the pieces that are similar together, and you get 9x+ 7xy +5. i don't know if you teacher wants you to seperate it further, but i don't know how to do that.
number 2: -4yxx +5xyx +7x - 6y =5x. notice that the first part -4yxx is equivalent to -4yx^2. The second part is 5xyx which is equivalent to 5yx^2 because there are two xs in this one as well. seperate the equation and you get -4yx^2+5yx^2d+7x+5x-6y this comes out to be 1yx^2 +12x-6y.
number 3: first you have to get it all on one side of the equation. add the negative three to the other side of the first equals sign, then subtract the twox, then subtract the 3(5)-x)
you get 6x-10+3-2x-3(5)-x) i think i told you enough the first two times so that you can get this yourself.

Okay!Starting with problem 1
Combine like terms----So you would add 5xy with 2xy
and 3x with 6x
Now your fist equation is 9x+5+7xy+3y
That is your answer for number one.
PROBLEM 2
again COMBINE LIKE TERMS--so you would *** 7x with 5x
and -4yxx with 5xyx
Now your second equation is 12x+1yxx -6y
12x+1yxx -6 is your answer

PROBLEM 3
sorry but I am lost there! Wish I could help you but the 3 different = signs confuse me,lol.
I hope i was a a help for the other two though!
Have a good day.

I think you just combine as much as possible - for example, the first one, combine the 3x and the 6x, combine the 2xy and the 5xy, the others you have to leave alone.
I got: 9x-5-3y-7xy -- this combines all of your similar letters.

I think you'd just to the same thing for the other two, but those look a little more confusing to me ... sorry.
Hope it helps!

1. 3x + 5 + 3y + 2xy + 6x + 5xy
==3x + 5 + 3y + 2x + 2y + 6x + 5x + 5y
-----------------(distributive property for 2xy and 5xy)
==16x + 10y + 5
--------(add the x's and y's to reduce, and you have the answer)
2. -4yxx + 5xyx +7x - 6y + 5x
==-4y + -4x^2 + 5y + 5x^2 + 7x - 6y + 5x
-----------(distributive property with numbers, and x*x=x^2, to reduce)
==-5y + x^2 + 12x
-------(you can't combine x and x^2, so there is the answer)

Sorry, can't help you with number 3.

combine like terms.
don't be intimidated by the letters "x" and "y", they just represent a variable.

For instance, if I re-wrote quesiton 1
3 apples + 5 + 3 oranges + 2 grapes + 6 apples + 5 grapes

where x = apples, y = oranges, and xy = grapes
the question doesn't appear as hard anymore, does it?

You should simplify these as much as possible.

1. 9x + 7xy + 3y + 5

2. (x^2)y + 12 x - 6y

3. There's too many equals signs here.
