Health care in the U.S. is getting to be an ever increasing portion of our Gross National Product. This trend seems to be out of control. I wonder how much our economy can stand. There are other countries which do a better job of providing health care and at a much lower cost.

The costs associated with the medical industry are partially because insurance rates are beyond high to covered Doctors and Hospitals, My father's heart surgeon had to pay 125,000$ a year , just in malpractice insurance. This is the result of liberal juries dishing out multi million dollar law suits like they were dealing cards. You reap what you sow in this case. Blame the courts for allowing this crap to go on and the awards come fron your pocket, not the insurance companies.

Why isn't that fair? Since when do you have a right to a doctor and medical products? You have a right to demand how much you want to charge for your services and your fellow citizens have a right to not pay for that.
Short of Medicare and all that, the US doesn't have a health care system. That's the way I like it.
As far as helping you understand, you need to get over this entitled attitude you have. You assume that because there's a need, that there's a right. That's not the case at all. You own your life, which means you should be able to do what you want with your own mind and body. But that also means you have to take care of yourself.
It's nice when charities help those who can't or won't help themselves, but that does not mean people should be forced to pay for the inability or unwillingness of others to prepare for their health care.

No, it is not the government's way of sentencing someone to death. the government should not be involved. If the health care industry was more of a free market, prices would come down.

I repeat what Phillip said and will add one more reason:
"YES! It IS ridiculous.
That's because the driving force behind medical costs is LAWYERS!" and INSURANCE COMPANIES

How could anyone justify the withholding of care and outrageous complexities inflicted upon the elderly, the disabled , the wounded veterans, and young children all for profit. God WILL severely punish these charlatans, and Hell knows their names. I for one see the Evil ones and Damn them.

We live in a capatalist society...it is not much the government can do to prevent it other than governmentizing health care which they have not been able to do/ refuse to do.
