One of the main points in life is to grow from being a taker (as a little baby) to a giver (an old wise man). Babies are totally self absorbed with their own needs and could not care in the least bit about other people. This is how we all start out. Happy old people are givers. We must go from being takers to givers in life.

People who are takers feel that the world owes them. These types of people are unhappy because their expectations are always not being met.

People who are givers need to help others in the world and show appreciation when they themselves are helped. These types of people are much happier.

So, to answer your question, "Why is there so much starvation in the world?" The real answer... God created poverty because people need to give. It is not that you need so I give. It is, I need to give, so you need! God could have created us without needs and totally self sufficient but he didn't. He made us with deficiencies so that we would need to give each other and thus become God-like.

Giving nourishes the soul.

In some countries, dog and cat are a common meal even the native Americans ate dog and not because they were starving so that ploy doesn't work here, try another.

There is starvation because the governments of those countries either don't care about their people or there is such an over population that those governments can't support them.

Dogs and cats can carry a number of diseases. The US alone grows enough calories to sustain the world over, there are better ways to end starvation.

Because people are hard-headed, and refuse to move to where food is plentiful. Instead, they know that if they stay in the desert where there is no food, other countries will feel sorry for them and send care packages.

Politics, purely and simply.

There's plenty of food and, except for a few lightly-populated areas, plenty of means and ability for folks to feed themselves. It's when politicians, gangsters, and dictators decide to starve out their opponents that you see large numbers of folks dying due to lack of nutritition.

People haven't learned yet that heaven is the ability to feed each other rather that trying to stuff ones own gluttonous face.
