JJ Hardy is doing phenomenal this year, if he remains consistent does he have a shot?

Hardy definitely has a shot, his team look like the favorites to win the NL Central, and being on a winning team usually gives a player a bonus, as does having less of a supporting cast, which is why I don't think they'll give it to Jose Reyes, or any other Met because that team is too good overall. I can see someone like Matt Holliday winning it at his pace, or if the Cubs or Astros get going there's a chance for Derek and Carlos Lee.

I would say no on Hardy because even if he continues to put up numbers close to what he is doing now he will still fall short of other players. With the visibility Jose Reyes is getting now he would have to be the front runner. He is on pace to hit over .300, steal 80-100 bases drive in and score 100 runs all from the leadoff position in a major market. He is well liked by players and fans and no one would be disappointed if he does it this year.

To me, it's a toss-up(as of right now) between Prince Fielder and Carlos Lee. I think by the end of the year it could very well be Lee, simply because I don't see Fielder keeping up the pace over the course of a full season. I like how Pujols is nowhere in this conversation hah. It's sad though.

I can honestly say I don't have a problem with JJ. Hardy of the Brewers. His offensive number are great and his defense is nice as well.

Id say Hardy's team mate...Prince Fielder. Of course thats as of right now and its only May, so things will probably change in the next 4 months.

i think the NL MVP will be from the Mets (Reyes) this year or maybe Matt Holliday. Both are doing great at the moment but the year is not even half way done yet. Someone will catch fire soon.

It will be hard to remain at his current pace, however if he does then he should finish in the top 4. I think Jose Reyes is the leader at the moment.

It's early, but if the Mets keep winning and he keeps up his current pace, Jose Reyes would be my pick. But it's very early.
