I agree. I hate when entertainers suddenly think they can also be politicians. Its an ego and power thing for celebs. They should all shut up and sing or act.

Don't really have an issue with celebs spouting their political beliefs, but they DO need to keep it separate from their entertainment lives.
Talking about how you feel about the war in Iraq or Gay rights at a concert that is not specifically for those things is stupid. Have a press conference if you want to use your celebrity for political gain. Don't waste our time. We paid to see you perform, not to hear you blabber on.

Whether I think they should or not is different than whether they have a right to say what they want. Of course they have that right. Perhaps the better question is whether we should listen to entertainers talk about politics. :)
To give my opinion, yes I do think they should talk about politics. Many who have a podium speak about politics -- ministers, teachers, protesters, etc. Why should entertainers be any different?
If you don't like it, well, don't let it ruin the show for you.

they are entitled to have opinions just like we are. just because they're entertainers should not preclude them from expressing what they feel about politics. that being said, i think it's inappropriate for them to address politics during concerts. people pay good money to watch them perform and that's what they should give. there's a time and place for entertainers to speak about their opinions - doing that at a concert or any kind of entertainment forum is not the right place.

Personally I think its really cool that they do get involved like that.
I mean, if they wouldn't people would say..'daarn those mother-stinkers, they got so much money and they odn't giev a darn bout nothin thats goin on in our world..and in politics blablabla' ..get what I mean?..
I mean I know what you mean too. you go to a concert and its like....yeh whatever!..just get to the music already!..
But I personally like millions of others think its actually a perdy positive thing.
I just think percentages of their money should be takin away and given to the poor haha..
then you wouldnt have to hear then ranting and raving on stage :P

They are certainly "entitled to their opinions like anyone else." It's when they are treated as though they are smarter than everyone else or that they are experts simply because they are celebs that I found myself disgusted.

Their opinions are no better than ours. And you don't watch them for their rants so they can just keep them to themselves.
