i have been living with a circle of influential people since childhood. most of it indirectly. my granddad was one of Malaysia's successful senior judges, and my dad, he was a success himself. these put pressure on me on what am i to become in adulthood. taking my SPM this year, I'm an honor student. most people expect me to pursue engineering as it offers high paying start salary, but what I'm really interested with is construction management. i'm in a dilemma

i know it's kind of cliche (being a psychology forum and all) to answer a question with a question but, i think the real issue is what will make you happy.

families are important to be sure but i'd guess that they would want you to be successful and happy in whatever path you choose. my suggestion would be to follow your heart and dreams. those who matter will support you and those who don't support you likely don't matter.
