Some of my friends are total war junkies! A couple are too young to sign up for the military, but in about 5 years, they can.
They want a war to be goin' on(Crazy, huh?).
Who do you think the US will be at war with in about 5 years?

Well define war...is a prolonged state of violent, large-scale conflict involving two or more groups of people. The factors leading to war are often complicated and due to a range of issues. Where disputes arise over issues such as territory, sovereignty, resource, or ideology, and a peaceable resolution fails, is not sought, or is thwarted, war often results.
There is different types of theories about war: Historical theories, Psychological theories, Anthropological theories, Sociological theories, Economic theories, Marxist theories, Political science theories, Demographic theories, Evolutionary psychology theories, and Rationalist theories.
Once your friends learn and understand all these theories, then they will understand what war is about. To be honest, your friends needs to concentrate on being a kid and growing up and less on violence.

I sincerely hope that we will not be in a military conflict with anyone. I strongly agree with you that if your friends want a war to be goin'on that they are indeed crazy.
To answer your question specifically though, I think the disaster of the war in Iraq will force the U.S. to withdraw the troops from both Afghanistan and Iraq once Bush leaves office. I do not think the U.S. will be in any wars in the short term future. But that might just be my wishful thinking.

I would say Iran, or North Korea (of course the Korean war never ended so that war is still going on)

China and The US will always be competitors... but no telling if they will ever go to War. But rest assured...the Muslim religion was designed to raise an army in thee 8th century and is still going strong.. so there will always be someone to fight.

USA probably won't exist in 5 years. We are completely in Debt to the Communist Chinese and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who are financing this insane Iraq war/occupation.
