I went for a growth scan today and was told the baby is big - she currently weighs 3lb 5oz - which for this gestation is on the 97th percentile.
Do you think I will have a big baby or something is wrong with her?

The hospital just said that should I go to term, I may have a big baby.
I will be asking my MW tomorrow what she thinks of it.
My son was born at 29 weeks weighing 2lb 110z so if I am 28+4 now and she weighs 3lb 5 - surely this is too big going on past pregnancy?

I knew a girl who looked like a beachball at 7 months. We didn't think she could get any bigger - she did.
the baby was 10lb. But, the dad was 350 and 6ft.4, and had serious eating issues. They were so proud their son could eat a whole quarter-pounder when he was 2.
I doubt it matters - someone has to be in the 97th percentile, or how would the people in the 98th precentile get there? What matters is how th baby grows up. There's a difference between "big" and "fat"; while I don't want to encourage anorexia, there's nothing wrong with sensible eating. Who knows, maybe the kid will play in the NBA or the NFL.

you might have a big baby if u go full term
u are suposed to be 4 and a half pounds at 34 weeks
dont worry if your dr isnt worried dont worry
u can have a big baby it just a big baby they are cuter neways lol
i had a 11 pound beautiful baby
we do what we have to do for our children did u know the biggest baby ever born was 22 pounds im sure u wont be that big
just make sure u arent gestational diabetes towards the end cuz that is what they think happened to me but it was already 37 weeks when they found out so they let it go till 39 weeks everything was fine and will be for u
dont stress it will make u go into labor just stay calm and talk to your mid wife about what u can do
best wishes and congrats on new baby

At birth, mine were 10lb 3 oz, 23" long, 10 lb 7 oz, 21" long and 9 lb 4 oz, 21" long. And they were all healthy and normal, just big.
With the first, since I moved mid-term, the size in his ultrasound caused the new doc to move my due date up 17 days. It just added to the misery that he finally showed up 3 weeks after the initial due date...
Get checked out for gestational diabetes. (I was negative, just had big babies.)
Interesting enough, my daughter (the 10.7) had a 10 lb 6 oz, 23" baby boy, and my son (the 10.3) fathered an 8.1, 21" baby boy.

I doubt there is anything wrong, Plus the ultrasounds can always be off, there are so many people where they were a pound off. YOu could have a big baby too, but that wont be a big deal, just relax.

she's probably just a big baby..or they may have miscalculated her due-date and you're actually further along than they thought...it happens. either way, don't worry about it. when the time comes your doctors will know.
