I would love to be able to tell you that they will make it all the way, but cannot, and am a diehard Raiders fan for over 30 years. One thing I can safely say is that they will be vastly improved and not becasue of Jamarcus Russell, although he was a great pick but I think it will take 2 to 3 years to develop him. the one thing people are failing to see is that the majority of problems the Raiders had last year was the inept coaching staff they had, minus Rob Ryan. Art Shell did not have the ability to grow with the game and was stuck in the old days, Tom Walsh, he was much better off running his Bed & Breakfast. The Raiders are a much better team than their record showed and I truly believe that Lane Kiffin will be a very good head coach for many years, For the first time in years there is a positive vibe in Oakland. Even guys like Jerry Porter are eager to play, and the loss of Randy Moss is nothing but a positive. I think a 500 season is do able but probably more like 6-10

I don't think the Raiders will make it all the way this year or next year for that matters. They need time to develop some of their new young players into a real team, but I do think this team is on the right way back.

Their defense was good last year and will probably be pretty good again this year and if their offense can step up than their record could improve to 6 or maybe 7 wins in the upcoming season.

Drafting Russel and getting Rhodes in FA is good for this team as they upgrade two important positions but we have to see how that turns out before one can say if the Raiders will make it all the way.

Like I said I don't think it's going to happen because they need improvement on their o-line but overall this team has the potential to become better if the new players can live up to their hype and/or potential.

I am a die hard raiders fan and i say... NO. they will not go al lthe way this year but they will have a much improved team this year, they had the number 3 defense last year in the league and are returning all there starters and have added some depth and those youngs players ( there whole defensive backfield has a combined 8 years of experiance) will continue to grow and they have a shot at being the number 2 or number 1 d in the NFL. THere o-line will be alot better, they wont have crappy schemes anymore to put them in a bad position and they will be a top 10 o-line this year, there is so much talent there and they added some quality vets (cooper carlisle and Newburry, etc) to help out those young guys they have, they will be completly switching there o-line scheme to a zone blocking scheme which will help them greatly, JeMarcus wont be ready this year but will be next year. they have a good young core of recievers and good depth in the offensive backfield by addind Rhodes and Griffith they will improve drastically in the run game, and still be productive in the passing game, and my honest opinion is that they will win between 6-9 games this year and will improve drastically in the rankings and THEY WILL NOT BE THE WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE THAT WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE LIONS AND TEXANS!!!!!!

From Broncos Nation, and being objective with this answer, Raiders have improved on defense in the last three reasons but will they even make the playoff this upcoming season? truth be told, the answer is no. By the way, the problem starts with Al Davis...he need to stay out of play calls up in his sky watch tower.

The Raiders will make it all the way alright....All the way to the toilet.

They sucked yesterday, they suck today, and they will suck tomorrow.

THE RAIDERS SUCK!!! Probably the only team in the league worse than them is the Lions....

I take that back - the Lions would probably beat the Raiders down.

LOL!! They haven't had a winning season in what 5 years. A QB isn't going to fix that mess. They need O-line help and lots of it. They won't make the playoffs by the end of the decade!

Make it all the way to where - the #1 pick in the 2008 draft? The basement of not just the AFC but the entire NFL? Dead last in every offensive catagory known to man?

YES!

Will they make it all the way to anything else?
They got about a snowball's chance in hell!

Not a chance in hell bro. Sure they have a shiny new QB but he is still standing behind that sorry excuse for an O-line in Oakland.
