No Pascal is not considered one of the self blanching it is green celery. You will have to trench it or, better, grow a variety known as self blanching like Golden Spartan, Supreme Golden, Golden Self-Blanching, or Cornell 619.
The easiest way is to collar the stalks covering the stalks from ground to foliage. Use velcrow or a rubber band to hold the collar on. I've seen waxed cardboard milk cartons and tar paper used. Set the cartons, opened top and bottom, over the plants a week, 10 days or even longer before you want to harvest. The color of the stalks will lighten, and their flavor will become milder.

Watch for slugs wanting to hide inside.
