Someone just proposed this trade to me... I'd be giving up Dice-k. Opinions?

Depends on a lot of factors of course. But my opinion of that trade without all of the other knowledge necessary to make a truly informed decision would be, Yes take the trade...Thome and Rivera's numbers speak for themselves. Besides that, Dice-K can only help you every 5th day and nothing more...Thome would be an offensive lift on a consistent basis. And although Rivera and the Yankees have had their struggles so far this year, Rivera is still an elite closer and if you need the saves, there arent too many better closers to be had. I would definitely take that deal. Good starting pitching is usually not too difficult to acquire in most fantasy leagues, The person offering that deal must be truly desperate for starting pitching, or just isn't that smart. Take the deal.

It really depends what you need.
Rivera can't keep doing so poorly, and the Yanks are sure to rebound eventually, to give Rivera SV opportunities. Of course, as a Sox fan, I hope not, but they probably will.
Thome can get hot and hit HRs. if you need some, he's a good candidate.
Daisuke has been really good in his last 3-4 starts, but if you have other good pitching, I have no problem with you selling him high in this deal. This is actually a pretty fair deal here, so if you need SV and/or HR, take it. Good luck...

I keep Dice-K for now at least until all-star break because he has much chance to pick up wins and K's...rivera won't get lot of save opportunity because Yankees are on a downward spiral and Thome is feast or famine type of hitter...keep Dice.

I think this is a good deal, Mariano will pitch better once the Yankee's have their proper rotation set and that is only a few weeks away.
Thome hasn't hit his full stride yet and he could be a great UTIL for your team with great RBI, AVG & HR numbers.
To me Dice is great I have him in many leagues but his last outing worried me a little, if you have good starters already that get you decent ERA, WHIP & K's then do this deal.
