If the baby's NOT going, take him to the doctor ASAP to rule out a bowel obstruction!
Otherwise, it depends. Is the baby breast-fed or bottle fed? Breast fed - watch what you're eating - like cheese, cooked carrots, applesauce, bread, etc. If it *might* constipate you, it will probably constipate the baby! If he's bottle-fed, speak to the doctor before changing formulas - you don't want to confuse the little tummy! (You'll have a bigger problem then!)
If the baby's struggling to go and only passes little pebbles, try this: take his temperature rectally. That should stimuate him to go. The long-term fix is to give one ounce of juice (apple, prune, grape, pear, or cherry) mixed with an equal amount of water once a day. If that doesn't work, go to twice a day. DO NOT go over one ounce of juice per month of the baby's age - you don't want to give diarrhea or fill him up so he doesn't take his regular feedings, this is just a little helper, and not more than twice a day. Start small and increase it as it's needed.

It is probably due to the iron in the formula. Check with your doctor first to see what they recommend. I don't advise you to change the formula without consulting the doctor. Prune juice is good or even a little puree prunes added to the formula.

Switch to a soy based formula.
More water regularly in between feedings.
DO NOT dilute the formula! Follow the directions accurately!
Juices are not recommended at this early age! Babies cannot tolerate them well.
CONTACT your child's doctor for other ideas.

Call your doctor. He/she may recommend a gentle stool softener, change in formula, or a little prune juice. She's very young, so I wouldn't do anything without consulting the doctor or nursing staff first.

provide her a sprint juice in a bottle, yet fill something of the bottle up with water.... consistent with hazard a million cm of juice and something water. She does not might desire to drink all of it, even even though it's going to make each and every thing start to pass. additionally my wellbeing care expert instructed me to objective a sprint brown sugar in water and which will help too. Pedilite is for dehydration, or diarrhea. i do no longer think of which will help. attempt a number of those ones I stated. they are going to help, you do no longer might desire to provide her too plenty, she only desires a sprint and that would desire to push each and every thing by interior 24 hours. it truly is amazingly elementary for a sprint one to be constipated simply by alter you made. additionally examine how plenty iron is in the formulation, iron additionally will constipate a sprint one.

If you don't, I would suggest you try to nurse. If you don't want to nurse I would suggest you try a lower iron formula or a non-lactose formula. Call your doctor.
