Media is playing a great role today in our lives. They make our voice reach everywhere, highlight problems, disclose ministers works.Media is more active now.But problem also comes,The news channels prefer to show a celebrity's activities instead of social activities.Total people killed instead of total people saved,Having headlines of matter which do not concern us directly or indirectly.i myself read newspapers for the truth, because i know the channels will not show the correct news.Obviously the channels want to get themselves attention.
Aaj Tak , Zee News, India TV are not news channels but a discovery channel of India.Should Media be controlled by some type of authority.

Thank God for the media. Would Priyadarshini Mattoo and Jessica Lal's murderers ever have got convicted if not for the media pressure? Yesterday's incident of Agra lawyers whipping another man tied to a tree in the court compound - maybe the victim has some hope of getting justice thanks to media publicity ? Gujarat encounter murders - the media exposes every attempt by the Guj. govt to interfere in the investigation ? The Orissa DGP Mohanty shielding his convicted rapist son ? The Pereira drunken driving case? BJP goons vandalising Baroda art university ? Even if sometimes the media overdoses on celebrities such as in the Bachhan wedding, overall they are doing an excellent job in exposing corruption and other misdeeds by people in high places, who would otherwise have got away scot free. The media is our saviour. May they never be state-controlled.

There are two sides to everything in the world. We may sometimes curse the media, but ask any cricket lover whether he can do without the live telecast of the test matches.Like so many other things, our relationship with the media is a love hate relationship.
Personally, I prefer freedom to controls.Just as people get the government they deserve, they also get the media they deserve..

Media in India have done yeoman service. They have brought many issues to public and shown the power of pen.
As Judges,Administrators and legislators media persons are also one of the pillars of democracy. They are fearless and made many a sacrifice to bring powerful crooks to books.

Now a days, they are also taking sides and hiding facts. However, on every side there are such persons giving a balance of either hiding or highlighting.

Thus ,on many occasion it is a boon, occasionally a curse.

These news channels are a boon. they expose corruption, which would go unheeded. They play the part of Sherlock Homes or Perry Mason.
but
They err when they show biased view, like yellow journalism.

I don't think they need monitoring. because they are directed by v. learned men. e.g. Prabhu chawla ,Rajat Arora and the like. and we trust their integrity

Retail boom, as such, is good, because it encourages competition, which in-turn can, bring the prices to realistic levels. But in India, our economy has developed, on cottage industries. If big players get into those trades, they will eat away, all small players. First you encourage the cottage & small industries, to grow and then kill them by allowing, big players. That is bad planning and depriving millions small traders.
