Man, I used to have this poem from a magazine (that I can't find now - of course), but it described the difference between generations wonderfully. It talked about prevalent drugs today and the peer pressure of using them, increased violence and gangs, the myriad of sexual issues today (used to be the worry was all pregnancy, and now there's like a million STDs). I wish I could find it, but I do remember it ended with "Please think before you say 'I've already walked your mile'."

Well this sounds like a lot of fun. Make a list and interview your mother. Think of the questions you need to ask to learn about her lifestyle as a teen.
Some questions could be Dating? Where did people go? Where did you get your first Kiss? She may have gone to drive inns and watched a movie. That may be where she got her first kiss. How does that differ from you?
How did she eat on a date? Did they go to a restaurant? MacDonald's? Then compare that with what you would do.
What about the way she dressed? Did she wear a long dress? Miniskirt? Then how does that compare with girls today? Also, when did she first start using makeup?
This just some examples and there many questions you can ask. Maybe she be fairly open and you both have a few laughs as you compare past with present. Good Luck!

You didn't say how old your mom is, since my kids are almost teenagers, I am assuming she is around my age. A lot of what you could write could be personal things, family composition (brothers, sisters, divorced or married parents etc.) her hobbies, interests etc.

As far as the world, well, to begin with she couldn't have gotten on Yahoo answers to ask this question. The Internet was not available, heck the personal computer was a joke.

There were no Cd's, DVDs, satellite TV, or PG-13 movies, video games were either at an arcade or extremely lame, heck even the ones at the arcade were extraordinarily simple by today's standards. We were facing the cold war, not the war on terror. The speed limit was 55 throughout the nation. Gas was around $1 a gallon. Michael Jackson was popular (and black). MTV played almost exclusively videos.

You may want to ask your mom, she may enjoy telling you about life when she was a teenager.

Well, technology sure has changed. Back them there were more kids smoking. Peeps were able to write a note fr their "moms". Prices were lower than they are now. Find out what she did for fun. Whatever it was prob didn't cost very much. Maybe find out the hangouts. Did she grow up in the country & you in the city ? Maybe her punishments were more severe. Ask her bout her chores. In gen ask her what life was like as teen :) Good luck on your paper !!! :)

Ask your mom how your life is different from the one she led as a teen - she should have some pretty good insight! Also, how old is she? Rent some teen movies from her era and watch them to get some ideas.

Sit down and have a talk with your mother about the things she used to do for fun when she was your age.

What you could ask her and then compare and contrast:

What did have to do around the house/chores?
Where did you go for fun?
What types of tough experiences did you go through?
The style of clothing and music in her day.
Stuff like that....

i think of you ought to realize there's a difference between following a area and having faith or a spirituality. maximum religions persist with a series development which we frequently learn on an analogous time as becoming up and by mum and dad- the set varieties exchange right into a existence-type which we consciously or unconsciously undertake. We in no way could desire to question it,as this is been a existence-type on your loved ones to persist with. although as you become previous and journey your existence, different issues touch your thoughts and understandings of existence meanings and wide-unfold behaviorism of persons around you. this can be the time whilst what you have learnt could could kick in and grant resolutions. each and every so often, although the instructions do no longer configure with what your person "intestine intuition" tells you and that's the place the conflict lies. additionally all religions could desire to conform in specific recommendations to allure to the a lot so they could no extra healthy precisely what you may choose for to have confidence. by employing following your households faith it frequently attaches you closer to the way you have been referred to ,your previous and kinfolk. you are able to have confidence the bits you elect for and discover ways to different than that for the period of different aspects you will no longer. Having a "intestine " faith or spiritualism facilitates alleviate any psychological burdens you sense you carry with out the administrations of a series faith. so as which you would be able to no longer have a undeniable faith you suspect in yet you have a series time-honored of concept or faith which could be compromised by employing activities on your existence. the considerable element is to no longer provide up desire on your person unique ideals

Interview your mom then ask yourself the same questions. Do a compare/contrast job of it and it'll be a breeze.
