as an Englishman it has always amazed me how Americans are scared of salad
ive travelled far and wide in America and have never actually seen a salad. In fact the only time i have seen a salad in America was in an episode of Dukes of Hazzard I believe the American people are missing out on one of lifes little pleasures and they are really nothing to be frightened of.

I love salad. We have salad here. Not sure what parts of far and wide you've traveled but salads are all the rage here right now. Delis are building salad chopping stations to accommodate the long overdue excitement of salad and all the wonderful things that you can mix in with them. Like romaine lettuce, red lettuce, a bit of iceberg, cucumbers, carrots, cranberries, sunfower seeds topped with just a little bit of raspberry dressing. Yummy-Luscious.

You obviously have never been attacked by a tomato or a cucumber! It will screw your mind up bad! You traveled far and wide in America and never seen a salad? You mean you never ordered one at a restaurant? And you are singing their praises on here? Sounds like you don't eat what you preach, bloke.

You must not have eaten out much but there are A LOT of restaurants in the US with salad bars. They wouldn't be there if people weren't eating salad. Personally I love a good salad.

Come on down to the farm my friend. We have fresh lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, onions, cabbage and squash. Fresh eggs from the hen house. The best-est freshest salad you have ever had. We even have fresh salad greens (we're Southerners).

Stoopid question but I'll bite. I don't know where you are hanging but everyone I know eats salad. Did you know there are 140 calories in ranch dressing. 130 of them fat! Use real balsamic vinegar instead. No fat and enhances the flavor.

We fought against the British because of their high quality foods, such as salads, and er....uh...that muttony mad cow stuff?

That's why we dumped some tea into the sea and blamed it on the Indians.

Hope this helps!

Hi Sidney, haven't seen ya here in a while. Good to see your humour. But you've used this one before. Time for new jokes. Don't keep me waiting!

Sincerely
Your friend the American.

Must be because they are full of donuts. I stayed at some very luxurious hotels while travelling around the States. Most self-service breakfast offered donuts - I ask you! First thing in the morning, donuts! Didn't see any salad either

Oh man, you make me laugh. Just had a salad last night. Come on over, you can have a salad, then we can bar-b-q some pork ribs. Free beer also.
