how do u indentify sand?

in our science class we are given a jar with sand in it ad we are suppose to do different tests to identify it. so can u guys please help us with it?

Well you should have a chart with different sand names/type that you can look at. You need to look at things like colour, grain size, and grain shape order to correctly identify the type of sand. Most beach sand is mostly quartz grains but there are other types of sand.
