I have a 2001 Honda CR125R, and I need to buy a new cylinder for it. Everywhere I look on the internet they have a cylinder a, and a cylinder b. My question is what's the difference?Thank you for your input!!

The only difference is the machining between the 2 cylinders is a little different.
Whenever you change the cylinder, or just the piston, make sure you match the letters.
A&A or B&B
Close to the bottom of the cylinder is the letters.
I forget where the letter is on the piston.
Either change them both at the same time, or look around the piston for the letter.
Piston dome, inside surface, or the wrist pin/circlip area.

On a racing bike, normally there is a chrome lined cylinder and a iron sleeve cylinder, the difference is that the chrome lined gets a little more rpm and less heat, not a noticable difference, but it's also a throw away, if your top end goes and the chrome lining is damaged (always is) the cylinder is garbage, and they cost a bit more, the iron sleeved cylinder can be bored out for a new piston and rings. Unless you are racing your bike and have a sponser with deep pockets the iron is the way to go.

i'm not familiar with that bike but i suspect th different cyliders have slightl diferen diameters. The engine # on your bike should provide a clue along with a service manual of course.
