Try this AZA website they have a list of careers and positions and contacts to give you an idea of what you need to do to get in. It is as said competative I get alot of applications evry week, so its about how bad you really want but it is a rewarding career.

Good luck.

If you want to be an exotic animal trainer, you are in for some surprises....this is a HIGHLY competative field and only the best of the best become trainers. Moorpark IS a very good school for this. If you really want this you should apply and not be scared about not getting in...if you want to get in this field you will have to take a lot of chances and just not give up when you think something is too hard. GO FOR IT!

There are tons of dog-training schools, but there probably aren't many school that teach exotic animal training. Most people learn by working their way up at a place like Sea World, a circus, or zoo. Your best bet might be to get a decent part-time job to pay the bills and see if you can volunteer to assist a trainer somewhere.

I would recommend looking into something like wildlife biology, ecology, environmental and natural resources, environmental science, environmental studies, or becoming a veterinarian (emphasis in exotic animals). I realize that this may not be the thing that you want to hear but it would give you the background that you would need to get you where want to go. In addition to that, it would still provide you with an opportunity to work with exotic animals.
