I've been on the birth control pill since i was 17...17 years now...and I've never had any problems with it. I've heard horror stories about some other methods. You may also want to talk with some of your friends to see what methods they use as well as talking in depth with your doctor about your options.

Like Chameleon, I beg of you to not go with Depo Provera, no matter what the doctor says. I was on it for four years and the side affects were horrible. So many women have problems during and after the shot that I can't believe its still on the market.

I am on Kariva (pill) for the past year or so and have had no bad side affects.

I used to be on yasmin but my doctor took me off of it because i had high blood pressure, but for the most part I liked it. My periods were regular, light and short. They lasted about 3 days. I didn't have any side effects when on yasmin except at times about a week before my period I would be a little moody. Overall I would suggest it to anyone who wanted to go on birth control.

Talk to the nurse/doctor but I find the pill best as I feel in control not having to rely on the man to wear a condom. They make it clear enough they dont like using them.

Well only your doctor will know what is right for you because he/she knows you and your body and will have an idea. I use the pill and condoms. I have never tried the copper coil or any others... I like the pill, but your doctor will know.

Good luck!!!

Get the coil fitted, you don't have to worry about condoms, rememebering to take the pill & there is no hormones involved like the pill, patch & injection. You can keep it there for 5 years & it's easy for a doctor to insert & take out..... Get the coil, no worries then!

I prefer the Pill. Either Loestrin or Yasmin both have been great for me.

I used that Mirena IUD. Works great and you dont have to remember taking a pill every day.
