start your periods? I didnt start mine until i was 16 and i felt like a freak throughout secondary school because of it! Looking back now i should have enjoyed it!

I started mine when I was 13. It's a pretty average age to. But you usually start your period according to your weight. You weigh more, the more you grow. If your body thinks that you have grown enough, to the point where its ready and matured enough to start puberty, than it will. It doesn't matter what age you are, it will come when it comes. It won't effect you later in life. And it WON'T make you age faster, getting it earlier than others.
