I would like to buy in a gated community but I like Unique, old fashioned styled homes. But all I have seen is homes that look totally modern and all the same, in gated communities. Are there or do you know of any companies that do this?

I'm sure there are many! Check out Ford's Colony in Williamsburg, Va! It's a beautiful community with a lot of of land dedicated to the environment also. The homes there must follow guidelines and are all historical in design. Land and home prices are priced reasonably depending on what you pick in style and design. Also, there are homes for resale and the prices are great. ( comparing these homes with those in the North East, or west coast )Again it depends on style and design. There are preferred builders who will work with you on building a custom home. Here's their web site.

rarely do house differentiate in gated communities bc a contractor has built them all similar. the best thing to do, is when u go to a community that is still being developed, speak to the listing agent, tell them what specifics you would like added to your house and if this is possible to negoitate in the sale. (being that they are still constructing your home) or you could buy a house and make any additions to your home that adds ur own unique touch.
