One of my grandmothers (90 years old) is on her computer all the time. She learned how to use one several years before my parents did.

My other grandmother (82 years old) will not even come look at ours. She also refuses to have a VCR or a credit card and has no idea how to pump her own gas.

It just depends on the personality whether or not they can learn to use it.

My grandmother (81) on my father's side is hopeless. My other grandmother (74) was pretty tech ignorant as well until my mother became tired of snail mail communication and sent her an old G4 Imac with a slow 800 MHz processor that was sitting in a closet. I believe grandma wasn't intimidated by it because she said it looked just like a vanity mirror.

My mother and I taught her pretty quickly once she found out nothing would blow up if she punched the wrong button. She liked the computer so much she just upgraded to a faster Imac this past Christmas. Now her e-mail comes flying into my mailbox on a daily basis along with her sage advice.

I would, and I actually do. Well, not my granny exactly, but a lot of wonderful enthusiastic grannies at a U3A. We're having a great time together!

Hey watch it nipper I'll come round and hit you with my walking stick. I'm teaching the grand-kids how to use mine. Big mistake really cos I only get on it when they're asleep now.

Of course! Granny would be thrilled to be able to use technology. Go for it.

It would require a very great deal of patience, they've both been dead for over ten years.
However in life, yes, why not.
