If you have back problems or other health concerns, then by all means go for the reduction! Even if you just feel self-conscious I say do it. Your self-esteem and health is more important than the size of your breasts!

I had a reduction back in Feb 2006 and its the best thing that's ever happened to me.
If you have back pain or any type of health issues because of your breasts, a reduction is the way to go.
I had major back pain that disappeared when I woke up in the recovery room.
These sites helped me out a lot:
http://www.bfar.org
http://www.breasthealthonline.com (check out the FAQ's section and the main reduction support board).
The first link talks about breastfeeding after reduction, which CAN happen (it depends on the surgeon and the incision procedure).
The second is a wealth of information about breast reduction.
I was only in the hospital overnight, then was off work for two weeks (longer if you are in an active physcial job). I was back to 100% in about a month and I just took it real easy till my incisions closed.

No one, but yourself, can tell you whether having a breast reduction is a good desicion or not. It's how you feel.
If your boobs make you feel self concious to the point where you hate them, or if they are giving you back/shoulder pain, then consider the operation carefully and find out as much about as possible before making up your mind.
You can be hospitalised for up to a week afterwards and the proceedure is a lot more invasive and painful than a breast enlargement and with significant scarring. Plus healing time can be quite a while and the operation comes with considerable risks, so think long and hard.

If they are uncomfortable and you think that this will make your life more pain free, then go for it. You have to do what makes you feel the best physically, besides after getting a reduction you will still be a good size and have the added benefit of not having to deal with those DD's all the time.

Ooh, i totally understand your pain, and being uncomfortable being 5"3 and a friggin F cup no matter if I lose or gain weight. I will be having one after my next child. Talk to your doctor, im quite sure it's safe - to a point obviously, it's still an operation.
I think it sounds better having something taken out, than something put in e.g. implants. All the best, just take alot of time to think about these things, and one question, have you had kids, and do you think you might any time soon? Pregnancy can alter breast size dramtically, up and down! but talk to your doctor I think!
All the best xx

Definitely have a reduction. You could end up with a lot of long term, chronic problems, especially in your back and shoulders when you get older. Being you have a medical reason, health insurance should cover it fully.

Can't tell you from personal experience, but I had a friend who had to do it. She said it was the best decision she ever made. she was about your size, and having back problems, so her insurance covered it. She feels better now, has more energy, and is much happier. She was told that she wouldn't be able to breastfeed if she had children, but so far that's the only negative aspect of the whole thing.

I'm obviously not a girl, but I would say do it. My cousin had the same thing, she got them reduced. She says it feels alot better on her back. Think of when your 70...youll look like a question mark with boobs.
