Has anyone else felt these types of movements? I still feel him moving like that this morning, but just every once and a while. I'm 40 weeks now.

I think it is normal, looks like your baby is running out of room! When you go back to the doctor, ask him about it, but I went went over my due date and the baby jerked with quick fast movements.....

Is this your 1st?

If your baby is suddenly moving very differently than he has been--especially if the movement seems frantic at all--you need to go get an ultrasound to get it checked out.

Ok, so I got a thumbs-down, but I'll repeat again..."seizure-like movements"--as described by the asker--can be a sign of serious problems. I actually know someone that almost lost her baby at the very end of pregnancy. She was experiencing something similar, got an ultrasound, and was rushed in for a C-section. Quick action saved her baby's life. Babies can suddenly act frantic if there is a knot in the umbilical cord, or any other number of issues. It's ridiculous for people to think that this woman doesn't know what normal movement and hiccups feel like by 40 wks. If something suddenly feels vastly different from the norm, it's worth getting it checked out by your doctor.

Could it be hiccups? Usually hiccups feel very light and rythmic compared to regular kicking. The baby may have been dreaming. You would do best to give the doctor a quick call to see what he/she thinks, but babies do all sorts of weird stuff so he may just have been messing around.

your baby is just wiggling around in there. Thats normal. SInce you're 40 weeks...baby doesn't have enough room to move a lot so it just wiggles in place. I wouldn't worry about it.

I used to get them too. The baby has hic-cups. Perfectly normal.
