You should be able to transfer video using a Firewire (IEEE 1394 interface) cable or, depending on your camcorder, a USB 2.0 cable. Firewire will be much faster.

The cable itself is relatively cheap and can be purchased at most computer stores.

If your computer does not have a firewire port, you can buy a PCI firewire card or a PCMCIA card if you have a laptop (Mac computers come with firewire ports and most newer PCs do as well)

Bear in mind that before you transfer to have enough space on your hard drive. Mini DV takes about 1GB for 4 to 4.6 minutes in PAL/NTSC resolutions.

See the link below for detailed instructions on how to transfer your video from your camcorder to Windows Movie Maker.

There should be a USB or Firewire port on the cam corder, plug it into your computer and use windows movie maker to edit and save your work. Do u remember if the cam corder came with a drivers disk? google your "camera and drivers"

It relies upon what the camcorder is. The least you would be wanting is a seize gadget (PCI or USB). some camcorders have Firewire, which you will use a Firewire card to repeat video to the laptop. present day camcorders could use USB geared up in.

your camcorder should have either rca jacks, or a video jack ( it looks like a tiny stereo headphone jack. using one of the above connect camcorder to comp, open my computer and right klik your device, select open drag the video onto yr desktop.
