You're probably dehydrated every summer doing a lot outdoors and no taking in enough water. The first thing your body does is pull the water out of your stool to make up for what you're not taking in by mouth and it makes your poop hard and you get constipated. Drink more water for starters. You can buy colace, senokot or miralax over the counter to keep regular. Eat plenty of whole grains (wheat pasta, wheat breads) and fruits and vegetables. They're fiber which helps you digest and move things along.

Eat fruits everyday (every meal). Banana and Papaya are highly recommended. In fact these are the fruits usually served in Philippine hospitals. Papaya is a laxative fruit and can induce bowel movement. Also drink enough water. Some recommend at least 8 glasses a day. If you can drink more, the better.

Yeah man, it sounds like deydration (as others have mentioned). When I went to thailand I didn't poo for a week, when I did it came out all stripey (like neopolitain ice cream) you could pick out individual meals if you looked carefully.
If you don't take in enough water your body will try and reabsorb some from your poo while it's in your lower intestine. This makes the poo go all hard and dense, and it's alot harder to shift.
Eating alot of fibre as well as incresing your water intake will help as well. Muesli, all bran, bran flakes, figs, fruit and veg all contain high amounts of fibre.

During the summer, we tend to get dehydrated more often. Just drink plenty of water and try to eat foods high in fiber to help.

In addition to what has already been mentioned, especially drinking more water-- very important, try drinking prune juice or Plum Smart juice everyday.

It sounds to me like dehydration. Drink plenty of water to loosen your stools and try a tablespoon of either olive or cod liver oil to ease the passage. If you need fibre, try Golden Linseed sprinkled into yoghurt or breakfast cereal.
