Babies have moods like we all do, 15wks is too young to wean, some babies have little phases where they seem less interested in eating. If your house is hot, or colder than usual due to air conditioning, or if something has changed, the baby may not be as interested in nursing as normal. The interest will come back in a few days. If the baby seems interested in your food when you eat you can start giving him a little bit of cereal mixed with breastmilk (about a tablespoon). Babies need to nurse until they are at least a year old. They need the nutrition from breastmilk and cannot adequately gain nutrients from food. Cereal will just be for fun and experience for the next few months. As each cereal (Rice, Oat, Mixed etc) is tried and tolerated, the baby gains experience and his tummy learns to digest harder foods too. After the cereals, pureed veggies and fruits are next. Try a new food for at least 3 days before starting another one to check for allergies. The goal should be cereal once a day for fun for a month, then twice a day and then start offering food for one meal. The baby still needs to nurse throughout the day and will need to nurse even after the food (but just a little bit).
WEANING THE BABY THIS YOUNG WILL MAKE HIM SICK!! Baby's need to nurse until they are a year or older. Talk to your doctor.

IF hes showing signs of weaning you need to talk to his pediatrician. He either needs to stay on breastmilk or start formula. You cannot cut out either of those completely at this time because he wont get everything he needs form food since he cant have certain foods until a year. Theres a reason you are supposed to feed them breastmilk or formula for an entire year.

He shouldnt begin foods until at least 4-6 months. Sometimes there are special needs that have to start food earlier but dont make his digestive system work harder just because you want to.

Like someone else said, even if he seems to do okay (and theres a chance he wont), feeding him too early can cause problems later in life.

he is too young to wean, first off. you need to call your pediatrician and ask him/her what to do if he's not taking a bottle or the breast well. the american board of pediatrics recommends that babies not be started on babyfoods, even cereal, until at least 6 months of age, bc research has shown that their tiny bowels can't handle the solids yet, and they are more prone to allergies later in life. you should always call your doctor, this is your baby's health you're talking about. besides, any doctor will tell you that until the baby is 1yr old, formula or breast-milk should be his main source of nutrition.

Start with rice cereal first, and them move up from there...just remember, even with foods, the baby still needs formula or breastmilk until at least one year.....think of the foods as a supplement to the formula. They still are unable to pull all the nutrients they need from just food.

I started all my children on cereal at 3 months, than 1st foods at 4 months, they have done fine, you have to try a little at a time. do not over do it. with my last child, no 5 months old, i started him on 1st foods and he did well for 2 weeks than he just wouldnt take it, so I took a break, waited a couple of weeks and started up just this past monday, he seems to be doing great. babies are all different so you have to go at the babies speed, not yours or the drs, your child will let ou know when he/she is ready
