No, I think both brands are so well known they don't really need to advertise.

On average, Pepsi advertises way more than Coke. Pepsi for some reason has more of a global reach yet Coke is still the #1 seller. Pepsi relies on celebrity advertising like David Beckham, Beyonce, Shakira, Britney Spears etc. the amount they spend on Advertising is miniscule to the profits they gain. to answer the question,* they would sell less over time*, but not to a degree that would bankrupt them. these fortune 500 corps are not dumb, they know its a war out there and reaching the folks at home plays a major role.

I think they need to advertise, because everyone is brainwashed into thinking soda is good to drink..

On the other hand, the other day while I was in costco I laughed. There was a guy there who was giving out free samples of pepsi. I thought that was a little weird. How many people sampling the product, have actually never tried it before?

Yes after some times. People might forget or competitors taking over their share. But how long it will happen? Nobody knows. As nobody can not calculate neither how many percent of the current sales is solely generated by advertising.

usually the company who make more advertisments its indication that it sell less
that is why pepsi keep make more advertisments because coke is the leader in this field

I have no idea why Coke continue to advertise - everyone knows the product so people wouldnt stop drinking it if they stopped advertising

That just MIGHT be the case !?! .,. but that may take awhile before they'd lose many sales!?! Many-Many subdtitues them both at times!! Possibly do to the caffine in the drink `s!?! it's like that kick or pick me up that many seem to get from coffee!?! & they do'nt taste TOo bAd !! '`R"r,r'r.r',->
