I either lay them across his pillow or throw them out. One time, he only had two pairs left and he starting freaking out. I subtly reminded him to remember to put them in the dirty clothes basket when he takes them off. Otherwise, he will spend more money on socks per month than he does on his car payment. It works sometimes, but he does slip every now and then.

How funny but NOT! I know how you feel, my husband did that every single darn day and it became very irritating. For the first few years I picked them up and complained the whole time. After that I simply just started throwing them out, after all, he treats them like garbage and so, so did I. Eventually he ran out of socks and had to buy more, when he realized those were depleting as well, he asked me about it and I told him the truth. He doesn't leave his socks on the floor, much, anymore and I don't get annoyed. After all, I am not his mother and if I were, I would have taught him better. Now, If I see them on the floor I simply ask, "do you need these", and he gets directly up and puts them in the laundry and we both have a good laugh. Relax, it could be worse.

This is a problem that runs women crazy. It is as if men think they have no responsibility for picking up after themselves. Some wives leave these smelly socks on the floor, others place a clothes basket in the bedroom for their husband's use, and other wives--that is, bold women of courage, throw at least one of the socks in the trash (by accident, of course). A few missing socks usually solves the problem. But you didn't hear that from me!

Either leave them where eventually they are all dirty and doesn't have anymore left or simply throw them away. After time he will get the hint.

However I am a firm believe to pick and chose your battles. If he is over all a good man and helps around the house with other chores and such then let it go it is not a big deal. If he is lazy and doesn't help then try the above.

If you have a dog leave them on the floor. Our dog just LOVES carrying socks around the house. Then at some point just put them in the wash.

Pick them up and put them away in his drawer without washing. Eventually, he'll either 1) get the hint, or 2) ask why all the socks in his drawer are dirty. Then you can say, "They need to go in the hamper to get washed, sweetie."

Good luck!!

Leave them on the floor and ignore them. When the pile gets big enough and he has not more clean ones he will pick them up. Don't even move them when company comes over after all it's his nasty funky socks. Don't let treat him like you're his maid or his mother.

Pick your battles better. If him leaving his socks on the floor is the worst thing you have to deal with in your marriage, then you are a lucky woman. Be happy and don't sweat the small stuff.

If you do the laundry, just stop washing them. Pick them up so he'll think everything is remaining the same, but just put them somewhere else. One day, he won't have any clean socks to wear, and he'll get the idea.

Leave them there until he runs out and has to wear dirty socks, or you could be nice a pick them up for him.
