I am just about due to have my 2nd depo shot (3 june). But i have spotted off and on all the way through the first 3 months and am questioning wether to have it again or not. The doc said you can spot for the first 2 and then it goes away, Just asking what are other womens experiences did the spotting stop?

I took depo and didn't have a period for eight years - Bliss ? so I thought at the time !! Until I stopped taking it -

I suddenly reaslised what it was to feel like a sexually charged woman.

Beware - it will make you very moody in the beginning which once has passed you will think fine everything is ok.

But believe me and I have heard many similar stories - I got my boobs back, and suddenly felt alot more horny and you won't even realise that this til you stop.

My husband says its a big improvement and can even put up with the new pms I have now I have periods.

Yes its easy - but don't stay on it forever

I spotted on my first one, missed the appointment for my second one and finally had it late and spotted again, so I'm probably not the best person to ask, but my best friend has it too and spotted on the first but hasn't since so it could just be that for the first one it's getting your hormones levels correct and then it stops them from then onwards

I was spotting into my FOURTH year. I would really reconsider the shot since it has so many negative reviews. I got off it fast when I noticed that a lot of women were having the same complaints as I was.

Have you thought about getting an IUD? That's what my wife has. She gets her cycle and all her regular hormones and I get the luxury of finishing inside and she hasn't gotten pregnant in the 4 years she's had it. I think it's the best form of contraception there is.

I bled heavily the first three months then refused to get it again. It was horrible. It worked great b/c I was never off my cycle so that I could have sex. Ugh!
