Hello,
i needed to know, if i took 15 credit hours of independent study college courses (but never went to an actual college), how do i put that on my transfer admission application when i transfer those 15 credits to a physical college and they ask what college/university i previously attended? Do i put Lsu (since the courses are done by and granted by Lsu), or do i put Lsu Independent study?

You don't transfer the credits. What happens is, you submit an official transcript from the school where you took the credits and request that they be accepted.

If you are lucky then the school you are entering will accept some of the credits. But they may not, so you should be mentally prepared for that. Some schools will not accept credits unless they were earned as part of a degree program. And some will not accept credits earned under independent study, only credits from standard courses. Most schools will not give you credits if the courses were counted as part of your high school graduation requirements.

When you talk to the admissions office at the new school, they should be able to tell you the exact way to submit the courses for review and possible acceptance.

Don't assume that it's automatic. It isnt.
