I am a beneficiary to part of an estate in Texas (where I reside)and I'm being left in the dark. I would like to see what is being done as far as the numbers are concerned.

I need a tactfull way of asking for this information through a letter to my father (the executor) and his attorney. Father and I have never met so it is not like I can just call and ask him.

Thank you for your help!

You don't need to be tactful. Just ask the executor for a copy of the accounting. Why worry about being tactful if you have never met your Father. Just pick up the phone. It might be a chance for you to begin some kind of relationship with him. Good luck.

Final accounting has to be filed as a public record at conclusion of the action. Ask him if there is a final accounting prepared for closing the estate and if you can review it before it is public record.
