The best baseball parks are outdoors. Fenway, Yankee Stadium, Wrigley Field: all these storied parks are outdoor stadiums. Even the newer fields are classic in their architecture: PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Jacobs Field in Cleveland...The fresh cut grass and the sun shining brightly on the field make a day game all it should be, and the night games under a clear sky are all the more entertaining.
Baseball was meant to be played outside, and, though great games can be played indoors or outdoors, the best baseball experience takes place outside.

I don't mind them -- have been to the Astrodome (which gets a few bonus points for being the original -- I admire the engineering and audacity it took to build it), Tropicana, Minute Maid while open and closed, SkyDome once open, and the Metrodome. The roofing serves a purpose in cold or brutally hot & humid climates.
The Met felt like being in a huge lecture hall, and getting out was chaotic at game's end because they won't open all the doors for fear the air pressure will drop too much to maintain support of the roof. It's going away in a few years.
The Trop was -- well, I dunno, there were so few people it was hard to get an impression of what it would be like full of fans as a ballpark should be. If they could take the roof off it'd be a much nicer place. Moving it across the bay would help too, the location is crappy.
I don't mind them, but I don't miss them either. Soon the Trop will be the last fixed roof park in baseball.

I've been watching baseball in The (Hubert H. Humphrey Metro)Dome for 26 years. I don't mind it because it can get pretty loud during the playoffs and world series. However I would definitely prefer an outdoor stadium, they are much more enjoyable.

Only if it is like Miller Park, but it cannot have a roof that can't open. Watching a game in Tampa was just awful. Indoors stadiums are the worst. But a retractable roof is the way to go. It guarantees no rainouts - and is only closed a few games a year.

Miller Park has it all. Open roof when its nice outside, closed roof when the wheather is bad. It's the best of both worlds. I do prefer the outdoors, but domes can be nice at times.

baseball is meant to be played outdoors. the only plus is you dont have games delayed/cancelled because of weather. the retractable roof is great. you get outdoor baseball, if it rains, close the roof.
