I got my HP laptop NC4010. and it always boot to a blue screen. So I was thinking to try update the bios. Problem is, the laptop doesn't have floppy drive nor cd-drive. Its all external.

I was wondering if it is possible to flash the bios with usb memory stick?

or any better ideas?

I not sure this will work. Is the Floppy Drive not working? I had an old 286 Laptop and it had a Floppy. About all it had, I think it was about 340 MB Hard Drive.
I would say to re-install the OS, but, I not sure what you can do.

If your HP boot from your external CD drive, you should be able to do the BIOS that way. It may even allow you to boot from a USB device which will also depend on your Thumb drive.

You know, you may even be able to udate the bios from a Windows enviroment on this unit. See the link below....

Honestly, individually, if you do not know ample to grasp that a BIOS will handiest paintings with the motherboard it is created for, then you should not fear approximately it. Your first-rate guess is an entire set up, or for those who MUST replace your BIOS, verify the pc corporation's internet site, and spot if there's one. Just recognize that if anything interrupts that BIOS replace, there may be actually NO manner of restoring it to the historical one. The motherboard might be utterly vain.
