My dad taught me how to shave my legs when I was 10 in the 5th grade. I'm Italian and I'm really hairy and since I went to Catholic school, I had to wear dresses. It's not an issue about maturity and acting older when you are that hairy at a young age. I got made fun of SO BAD it wasn't even funny. Also, since I was deathly afraid of sharp objects such as razors and skeevy of blood, my dad bought me an electric Norelco. Then, when I wanted them to be smoother, he taught me how to use a real razor and showed me how to do it (despite never having shaved a leg before!!! My dad was a single dad. He had to teach me about tampons too!)

Anyway, I say, buy her an electric razor if she is really young. It's so embarrassing to be hairy. I've been there.

Usually around 12. But since even you can tell she has more hair than normal due to medication I would say no matter what her age it is okay for her to start shaving. Just be sure to show her how to handle the razor.

If she has a lot of hair now, I would say that now is the best time. If she is still young (10 or younger) then you should probably help her out. I would not suggest a 10 year old or younger to shave, but if she has a lot of hair, she will need to. I started shaving the month before I turned 13.

My mom allowed me around the age of 12 i begged her for it plus i had proof that i had more hair than most girls. I've met young girls who have even started shaving at the age of 7 because of hair growth caused by medication i think its okay if you let her do this and if she can't handle a razor by herself help her out and teach her how to do it, that way there'll be no room for cuts =]

With shaving the later the better, but you don't want her to get made fun of for hairy leg and arm pits. I let my niece start shaving at about 11. The hair on her legs started to get heavy just before she started getting her period.

Whenever she begins to be really self-conscious, bothered, and embarrassed by the amount of body hair she has. Though, I probably wouldn't like my daughter shaving before the age of 8.

This is a good question because I am a woman with 2 sisters and we all shaved our legs and our mom never noticed because we kept our mouths shut and never tattled. Our youngest sister had dark coarse hair on her legs and was teased. My mother insisted she had to wait until she was 15 and being the eldest daughter at 19 I gave her a razor and told her to not say anything and no one noticed and she never got teased again. Moral of this story? I didn't want my sister embarrassed because of my mothers power trip!

depending on age--if shes still in grade school try to stick with an electric its easy and no cuts..if she is emabarassed by the hair you might want to start with this especially with this weather and how they want to dress now i just wouldnt start with a regular razor till she was a teen and then monitor go in with her to teach.med can that but the important thing is she feels better you can work with the shaving..good luck..

When she feels insecure about the way she looks (from the hair i mean). As long as she's able to a control the razor without a problem, then I say let her start.
