yes...and I understand your concept that a MOTORCYCLE cop is not wearing a seatbelt.
The laws vary depending on vehicles. Motorcycles do not have seatbelts, for obvious reasons. But put the shoe on the other foot. Is it fair that a police officer in a car, give a motorcyclist a ticket for not wearing a helemt? ( in a state that helmets are nessecary)
Getting cited for anything sucks. But realize that 99.9% of all crimes, that police actually catch people committing, are traffic violations.
Buckle up.

I consider the seat belt law the begining of "big brother." ppl don't get thrown from their vehicles and kill innocent bystanders and those who do it simply because it's a "law" are like sheep. I do it simply to keep the cops off my back, but the bigger question is should the government have the authority to decide what is best for me, whether or not it's bad for my health. I should have the right to do whatever I want as long as I am not endangering the health of others. how is me not wearing a seat belt hurting someone else. My best friend and my brother are both cops so believe me when I say that at least half of all cops don't even wear their belts......stupid law that's only existance is to give cops a reason to pull you over for no reason......if they have suspiscouns you might be doing something illegal. the begining of the end.............

I see between the lines. He's not wearing one. Why should I? Because it's the law. Motorcycles do not come with seat belts 'nor will they ever. He has to wear a helmet though in a majority of states. You don't have to. But as far as is it fair goes. No. But Life isn't fair.

Officially, the helmet is the seat belt on a motorcycle. As well as the motorcycle jacket, and other stuff you are suppose to wear while riding a motor cycle. If a police sees a motorcycle rider without his safety gear on, he is in every right to give him a ticket (although they usually only worry about the helmet.) Thus is the case if a car rider is not wearing his/her seat belt. So, yes.

A police man is a police man, whether he or she is in a car or on a motorcycle, if he or she spots you not wearing a seat belt, he has the right under that law to give you a ticket, so my advice to you is to click or ticket.

Personally I don't believe that wearing or not wearing a seat belt should be against the law. It's personal choice and if you were to get into an accident you are risking no ones life but your own which is a choice you should be able to make, not the government make it for you.

Why not? If you hit into a wall in your car, your body can propel around the car, possibly killing the passengers who are buckled in.
Motorcycles typically don't have passengers.
