Go out in the driveway in a miniskirt and turn the bike upside down and stand around and pretend to be getting ready to fix it. Then a bunch of men will magically appear and fix it for you. If that doesn't happen I'm sorry. You will have to put on jeans and remove the wheel. Pry off tire with tire spoons. Pull out the tube. Start at valve stem. Put air in. Check for leaking air. Take out patch from patch kit. Put solvent on to clean area where you hear air escaping. You may have to check with tube submerged in water and watch for bubbles. Press patch to area after solvent dries and hold for 30 seconds. Or just buy a new tube for 2.50 - 5.00. Reinstall tube and tire. Being carefull not to pinch tube. Reinstall on bike and reinflate to proper air pressure. Or you can also take the bike or just the wheel to a bike shop and have them do the whole thing for between 10 and 20 dollars. Good luck.

Below I give you a link so you understand what I say.
You buy a patch kit at Wal-Wort or most any store that sell bicycles. Some Auto Parts stores will have these also.
It comes with several size patches and a Vulcanizing Glue stuff. Most have a little tool to "Rough Up" the area to help the patch stick better. Sometimes you not need to remove the wheel from the bicycle, but, it easier if you can. Usually a small screw driver to carefully work the tire off one side of the wheel (It not have to be removed completely) One Side so you can slide the Tube out, remove the Valve cap. Then pull out the tube add a little air and hold under water to find the leak. Then use your kit according to instructions. Remove air from the tube and put back together.
BE CAREFUL! When you work the tire from the rim try not to pinch the tube and make another hole. This is not hard to do!
Check the prices of a new tube, it may be just as cheap as a repair kit if it on sale.

The cheapest way is to buy a tube patch kit (not the whole intertube). Have your son read the directions and make the repair himself. Great way to get started learning mechanical repair and teaches a good leason in responsible ownership.

confident, its o.k. to repair. you're able to desire to purchase a tire restoration kit at shops like Walmart for perhaps $5 or so. they could have the patches and rubber glue with it. great glue??? do exactly not comprehend- you are able to attempt it. however the restoration kits artwork effective.
