In the USSR, the US, and China, the space service is just that and the religious views of the astronauts/ cosmonauts is a personal thing that may or may not be in their official bio's. There are literally hundreds of specialists involved in various countries programs, and though I am sure all religions are represented (as well as atheists which probably make up the bulk of the population), these scientists are just that, and take great pains not to muddy the playing field with personal beliefs. That would be saying their interests are not 200% for their career and they would be left behind. Irregardless, it is so competitive a career that anything less is not in keeping with the job, and no country would promote that.

Only two Muslims have so far gone into space — Prince Sultan bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, who travelled on the US shuttle Discovery in 1985, and Anousheh Ansari, an Iranian American space tourist, who went to the space station last year. Both apparently were left to work out their obligations on their own.
