american league will be the red sox
national league could be either the mets or dodgers. the mets will depend on how pedro does when he comes back. the dodgers need to trade for a good power bat, without that they wont make the series.

The Red Sox and Mets are the two best teams right now and one or both certainly have a shot at the world series. With that being said, I would venture to say that the statistical odds of both teams getting there are below 50%. There is too much parity in baseball and any of several teams with good pitching could win a short series. However, I would also have to say the Red Sox and Mets but keep an eye on the Tigers and Dodgers, if the get to the play-offs, because of their strong pitching.

Well Boston will be there but it seems that the Mets fall off at the end of the year and during the playoffs. If they can turn that around then the only team that can beat them would be the Dodgers because they have great pitching, good hitting, and a bullpen good enough to get them to the show!

As you stated in your question both are currently HOT and probably favorite to get in the W.S.
It is to early to start predicting. If you remember last year
the Mets were favorite to win the N.L. but you just never know when it comes to playoffs.
